Beginning of the Sinning and the Twilight of the Girlish Figure

First, a hearty and boisterous welcome to Neighbor Steven, who has arrived from a Land FarFarAway, to live in glorious and happy sin with our much-beloved Neighbor Stacey for three whole months! Let the sinning and good times begin, kittens!

Second, the belly it is expanding. Or rather, the "softness" (ahem, ahem) that sits on top of the belly seems to becoming a bit of a show-off. The chef pants that I wear at work and at school have an elastic waistband - and oh it is every bit as flattering as you might suspect! - and today, that waistband left reddish indentations around my waist, just as a hairband around the wrist or a too-tight pair of jeans might. I inspected the, er, development, and it is definitely marching outward. Sadly, this newly discovered girth has not yet yielded a seat on the subway or the bus, and I am strongly considering sticking a pillow in my pants until nature catches up with my need for sitting.

Love and shoes, while I can still see 'em,
grumpypants

PS: Two things: how is it possible that I can spend a very happy hour cruising the Union Square farmers' market and buying yummy things, and then, upon arriving home, decide that really what I want to do is just watch TV and order pad see yew? Second, I bought a new pair of Crocs today, and they are orange. How very Mario Batali of me, no? (See the picture under the "Sharing the Joy" subheading.)
