So I guess you've all figured out why I've been silent for so long, eh? . . . . .;)
First and foremost and without a smidgen of further ado, a thousand and million and one heart-felt, huge thank yous to all of you wonderful people for all of your notes of congratulations! You guys are the best! Ever!!! You win!! Seriously, though, you all put a huge smile on my face and a spring in my step, and thank you thank you thank you!
Second, there are a fair few of you who I had intended to tell more directly, say in person or perhaps over the phone. You see, I had no idea that anyone actually read this site anymore - I mean, the last time I posted here was about a month ago and I haven't been a very prolific writer for a while - and so I thought the Mister and I could make a little splash here and then I could call all of you and share the news and then tell you that Sponge's first picture - in his/her flying carpet costume! ready for Halloween! - was on this site, etc., etc. So my best intentions did not come out very well, and I'm sorry that you heard here on the Internet and not from me, and I think we can all imagine how Nick Lachey feels when he hears all about his marriage woes on the cover of People magazine, can't we? But all seems well in the end and so thank you for your congratulations and the well-wishes and such!
And it's just so nice to finally be able to shout the news from the rooftops! I've seen so many of you since we found out I was all knocked up - Meka and Mr. BaumJovi - did you know that I was preggers at your wedding? I wanted to tell you so darn bad! Neighbor Stacey - I was all knocked up at your BBQ feista, and I really wanted to tell you why I couldn't have one of your tasty cocktails!
In closing, I promise I'll write more and not just about Mommydom and such. My time at school is about to be finished for a while, and so I'll have a few more lazy moments in front of the computer. Also, ladies, the first trimester is very much like having a hangover that never really goes away. Good times, I tell ya, good times!
