I was just thinking

I am on my lunch break at school and am spending some much needed time with my dear Internet. While I was reading Deb's site about a conversation she had with a cab driver about getting married, I remembered a moment that the Mister and I had with a car service driver after we got married.

We were leaving our reception, which as some of you will know was actually two weeks after we actually got married, and were taking a car service into the city for our One Night Of Fabulous Marital Fun at the Hudson Hotel. We were all tipsyness and smiles when we tumbled into the car. The driver, who was perhaps the loveliest and the kindest that I have ever had the pleasure of riding with, was totally and completely overcome with joy and excitement when he discovered that he was playing a small part in our celebration that he was almost in tears. He stopped and bought me a big bouquet of white hyacinths, and absolutely refused to take any money for the ride. That guy made our day. We live so much in our own little bubbles sometimes, and so such enthusiasm and sincere joy from a total strange and is always a little surprising and more than a little exciting. (Similarly exciting and more than a bit giggle-inducing was the good wishes from a car of young gentlemen, but that's another story. Can't throw all my material out there at once, you know.)

And you know what else is exciting? My first new post in for-freakin' EVER. I think I'm finally feeling a little inspired again. For the longest time, all I could think about was being (a) totally dumb-tired and (b) overwhelmed and (c) in desperate need of a day of movies and good red wine and (d) time with my friends and my Internet. And really, after thinking about all of that - well, mostly about being tired - I just couldn't write about it or ask anyone else to thinking about it, even a little.

So I'll be back to my regularly schedualed bitching and musing soon. Probably. Unless I'm too damn tired.

Love and cheesy biscuits,
